Recorder’s Office COVID-19 Re-Opening Plan

The Will County Recorder’s Office will be reopening to the public on Monday, July 20, 2020. To ensure the health and safety of our staff and community we have put several protective measures in place. Face coverings will be required to enter the building and conduct business.

The Bolingbrook Satellite Office will reopen on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. There will no longer be a public search station available at that location due to our limited office space.

We will only be allowing 1 person per transaction in the lobby at a time due to space constraints and our ability to safely social distance.

We continue to urge the public to send in documents for recording via USPS, UPS, or Fed-Ex. You can also utilize electronic recording if your organization has those capabilities.

For people needing to obtain copies or search our record books, we request that whenever possible, you access this information online, by mail, email or by contacting our office.

If you are attempting to search in our Archives area, we are handling that by appointment only. We will be offering 2 hour increments to search on our public access computers, microfilm viewers or the record books. You will be required to wear gloves while searching in this area. Please contact Janice Kay at jkay@willcountyillinois.com or Amy Chavez at achavez@willcountyillinois.com to set up an appointment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to keep everyone safe while visiting our office. If you have questions/concerns or would like to make an appointment please contact us at the Recorder’s Office:  (815) 740-4637
